As you all aware Bro.D.G.S.Dhinakaran, the Founder of Jesus Calls ministries is doing yeomen service in the field of Evangelism for the last five decades. God has chosen him and his son Dr.Paul Dhinakaran to heal the broken hearted people around the world. Their public Meetings are attended by a minimum of two hundred to five hundred thousand people every day irrespective of caste, colour or creed. Millions of people around the world have been touched through their unique ministry of love and compassion. They are a blessing to churches of all denominations.

God has given them a deep burden for our country and the churches and the grace to get the favour of the Government Leaders through prayer. As soon as the dates for the General Elections were announced in India in the year 2004, Bro.D.G.S. Dhinakaran clearly felt in his heart that unless God intervenes and brought in a secular Government at the centre, all the churches, the church leaders and believers of all denominations would go through difficult times. The spirit of God, therefore impressed on his mind that a 72 hours non-stop Fasting Prayer Meeting should be arranged with the participation of all Churches, exactly as in Esther 4:16 so that the Lord would listen to the cry of His people and intervene in the Elections to bring in a Government that would be favorable to the Churches. Accordingly, a 72 hour Fasting and Prayer Meeting was held from 14th to 17th April 2004 in almost all the Principal Cities of India with the participation of all Churches. Our gracious Lord heard the prayers of His children and granted us a truly secular Government.

All the Church Leaders in India were really amazed to see the fruits of their sincere and relentless prayer. So all of us unanimously felt that we must have a separate forum of all the Church Leaders in India for united prayers for emergent matters and hence the NATIONAL PRAYER ALLIANCE was formed in New Delhi, the capital city of India on the 1st October 2004. The main aim of this Alliance is to usher in and sustain righteousness in the Nation through united prayer. 

The National Prayer Alliance vision was launched on 01-01-2004 and 200 Church Leaders from all over India unanimously agreed that this was the necessity for the Nation. Each Church has a prayer group and in some cities, there are Pastors Fellowship but there is no uniting Network Nationwide. For that we need to join together and pray. Whenever the disciples united together and prayed great blessings came down. So united prayer is needed for God to bless the country. God has opened the door through the 72 hours prayer. We have to keep the door open through continued prayers. This is the main reason for forming NPA. 

God has opened the gates of heaven and we have to keep the doors open. How to do? We have to pray for each other and bind the kingdom of darkness. We also need wisdom to bring the gospel in an appropriate manner. Gospel work, which the Indian Church has undertaken in India, should bear fruits and as we pray together God will bring prosperity to every ministry. The Indian people will support our ministry and the Indian Church will bring the message to Europe, America and Russia. So this is God’s plan for the Church in India and we need to have a focused approach. We want to obey God and we thank you so much for all your efforts and prayer. In the first meeting on October 1st at New Delhi, it was decided to have NPA Secretariat at the Jesus Calls Head Quarters in Chennai, since Jesus Calls has 24 hours Prayer Tower and has conducted Prayer Festival all over the country. We have a dedicated website called nationalprayerindia.com in which anyone can register their names/Institution. Any Pastor, Servant of God can register. If there is any need for any one of the Servant of God for prayer it will be immediately be e-mailed to all people. The news will go around the Nation and everyone would pray with one accord. We have also formed the National Consultative Committee and State Consultative Committee, which can guide the NPA.
